My prayer for my MS family is that people will become aware of what a typical day is like for you. To that end, I wanted to share this poem that I had written in honor of my father. As some of you may know,my father had Multiple Sclerosis. I have written this poem to help families understand what an MS patients life is like. I hope that it speaks to you. MS Speaks Though these wounds of mine you do not see, they hold hostage deep inside of me, While on the outside I may look just fine, MS torments body, soul, and mind. Tremors,quakes, and vision blurred, pain radiates with each sound heard, With anguished steps, each time I bend, go prayers I do not fall again. Please do not think me uninspired, if I tell you how I feel so tired, Burning within me bright and true, I long to do the things I used to do, but like holes beneath a watering pail, my strength spills out before it’s filled. Some days are good and others hell, what tomorrow brings I can not tell. MS can not take away the things that I hold dear today, Faith , hope, love…a friendly call, are the things we ALL need after all. Should you just treat me like your other friends, we will have proven MS did not win.
