Faulkner may yet miss out if they decide that his medium pace bowling and strong batting skills are not needed. Similarly, if they decide to play Faulkner as a batsman, both Cowan and Bailey could miss out. Unless Watson is ruled out due to injury of course. Either way, I expect that this will be the squad. Cowan has been in good form since being dropped so deserves his spot in the 13. The only other batsman in any kind of contention is Cameron White, but he is so far from the test team that it is unlikely that he will play a test in the entire Ashes, unless there are a string of injuries and his form continues.
