My preorder for this book just kicked in. Ill read it this weekend. Im excited and nervous about this. Excited because as a long-term wine blogger on the small and the natural producers in Europe, in the past year Ive become interested in and got to know personally many of what I call the new world natural wine makers. I seriously love their wine. And interested in meeting the author this weekend at Chambers Street Wines Nervous cause as Ive now read every review, the book smartly seems to strive for a balance between the enthusiasts and the general wine lover. Between analyzing historical perspective and trends in taste. Its a hard line to straddle. Not being amongst those who got a sneak peak, Im hoping that I simply feel for the book what I felt for that bottle of La Clarine Farm #2 white or the quite outstanding 2012 Broc Cellars Santa Ynez Rose. Just inspiring bottles of wine both! They made me nod my head in appreciation. Made me want to call the winemakers up and thank them. And after only a bottle or two each, was still enjoying them so much that whether they were perfect or not was irrelevant. Anything that can add to that feeling will be a huge success. Im really optimistic!
