My problem with media coverage of violence is that the media and sometimes even public authorities reflexively and without any evidence blame conservatives and conservative ideas for violence. And that ignorant blaming of conservatives always seems to turn out to be incorrect later. After those two issues comes my final point: much of the high-profile violence that gets blamed on conservatives actually come from folks in at least one (and sometimes more than one) category: crazy, leftist, or Islamist. They dont blame conservatives because they genuinely believe conservatives are responsible for whatever it is that has happened, but because it is a chance to slander said conservatives and plant the notion into the public consciousness that conservatives are bad. The idea is to get people to have negative attitudes towards conservatives. Any excuse for this will do. If there is no rational basis for these negative attitudes, all the better. Someone who understands their own prejudices and assumptions and is able to examine them can determine if they are right or wrong. Someone who does not understand their prejudices and assumptions can never do this. Such people are better known as Useful Idiots.
