My professor asked me how we were doing this week. Most people - TopicsExpress

My professor asked me how we were doing this week. Most people said they were bogged down with tests and projects. Here was my answer: In a time of depression, in a world of instantaneous information; academic achievement had become the standard. What scholars had spent lifetimes desperately reaching for, was now common knowledge. Spread across the world through the power of the old gods, mans greatest pursuits had now become packaged and delivered to all who could afford themselves the most rudimentary of assets. An age where society was nearing the brink of discovering the most hidden and intangible secrets the world had kept for centuries, it seemed that everything had been done before. It began that only the most elite of knowledge and talent could muster enough resources to survive. Mans mastery of the elements had brought him to a realm of his own mind, one where his natural attributes began turning back on him; for he had reached too far and found himself burning his Icarian wings, drawn to his most basic and disfunctional creations like a moth to flame, and he descended; plummeting all of society into a void of careless imagery and meanginless novelty.....All the while feeling the thrill of his legendary sense of own self-accorded entitlement. But there stood one man. One man who was determined to break the cyclic nature of his own downfall. One man who was determined to crawl out of his inherent poverty of true knowledge. A man who would once again alight the torch of humanity and strive to bring it to the peak of reason and understanding. Join him now, this April, as his journey takes him once again through the depths and pitfalls of standardized, public education. Watch as he faces the challenges of this mental war, waged against the colossi of time and currency, headstrong to prove to himself, and to the world, that humankind can adapt and overcome... and that the pursuit of knowledge is not lost.
