My rant for the night: I get thoroughly ticked off at the hyperventilating some self proclaimed emergency preparedness experts stoop to in order to try and make a buck. To hear them tell it, youd think a case of MREs, a couple of rain barrels, 546 rolls of aluminum foil, a first aid kit some matches and a willingness to drink your own pee is all ya need. Oh. And their exclusive emergency pack that costs $4,982 and contains $14.95 worth of crap. The answers to self reliance arent nearly as complicated or scary as those experts try to make some believe. Seriously thinking about writing a SANE book on the topic. Especially now that I have the math behind solar power figured out. There seem to be very few sane books out there. It doesnt take a shit ton of money. Just a willingness to live simply and do something every day to work toward the goal of self reliance. **steps off soapbox**
