PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT VICTIMS CAN WORK TO PROVIDE THE SAFETY NEEDED FOR THESE WOMEN TO STEP FORWARD OUT OF THE DARKNESS WHERE THEY SUFFER WITH TRAUMA AND ITS DEVASTATING EFFECTS!!! RAPE IS NO DIFFERENT THAN ANY OTHER CRIME...the person who it happens to is a VICTIM, not a participant as so many of my follow up experiences suggested I was including my so called counselor...assumptions like that are what bring so many rape victims unneeded shame...the shame doesnt rest n the victim...it rests on the person who raped and that is where the shame should be...not the victim!!!!
