My recent trip to Kenya opened my eyes to the beauty and strength - TopicsExpress

My recent trip to Kenya opened my eyes to the beauty and strength of a yoga body that shatters the vanilla bland image of skinny, white, and spandex clad we see on the cover of countless editions of Yoga Journal. My heart is for Unity Yoga Room to be a place where yogis and yoginis of every shape, size, and color can find strength, empowerment, humility, and acceptance in equal measure. I love seeing the confidence of a yogini who strips off her shirt and practices in a sports bra because damnit, its hot in there! I love when a baby boomer who hasnt exercised in a decade comes to yoga and, in a few weeks, is smiling like the rising sun because he found strength and grace again. I love seeing 20 year olds practicing next to 60 year olds. I love big yogis, small yogis, yogis with round tummies, yogis with flat butts, yogis with dark skin, yogis with orange freckles, yogis who practice after a treatment to spite the cancer in their bodies, yogis who celebrate remission with a 20 breath headstand, yogis who havent touched their toes since 1995, yogis who twist around like a pretzel... Come as you are, folks. There is a place for you AND your fabulous body.
