My reflex thought about 2014 is good riddance but when I really think about it I remember that the sadness and difficulty brought us so much love, support, kindness and sincere willingness to help from colleagues, friends, students, family and, many times, complete strangers. The world so often lined up to give us what we needed even when we didnt know what that was. We learned lessons in love, compassion and how the end of a life can be lived well - teaching those around you and giving them what they most need. My daughters are flourishing and I am well loved. The sun is shining is Athens and 2015 looks like a very good year.
