My response to Chuck Langdons negative column in the Herald yesterday and how to address the future of gearing up for a move to another conference. By the way, we do not need his consistent kind of negativism to move forward! How can one even attend our games and write such harsh articles.The Boca Bowl now 4 days over, mistake or right decision, its time to move on with Marshalls future. If I were the Marshall AD, I would hire a good PR person to pursue scheduling P5 teams, it may be more than Hamrick can handle alone. My goal would to be to get us in a viable position so when the ACC, Big 12 or Big 10 goes looking for a couple of teams to add, Marshall will be one of those 2 schools that gets noticed right off the bat. Marshall needs to focus on its ticket debacle and rebuild the fan base. We need to pack the Joan, at least 32 to 35K plus each game. There are many ways to structure the ticket program to lure anyone who wants to attend a game. Marshall finds property for anything they want to build except a baseball stadium. Heres what I would do. Major goals: 1. We need to set our sights on acquiring the property to have the BB team to play on campus. 2. We need to continue our winning of at least 10 or 11 games a year. 3. We need a couple of games scheduled each year vs. P5 schools 4. We need the attendance increase. The failure to address any of the 4 goals and succeeding on them will keep Marshall from escaping the CUSA and moving on to a P5 conference.
