My response to someone on my page,,, I have tried being VERY gracious with ALL of your assumptions. on my various posts. But please tread lightly on telling me how to leverage my influence when you are not a member of my congregation. I pastor a very diverse (racial, orientation, socio-economic, education, etc.) congregation. Those under my leadership know my heart. It is you who has come on my page making assumptions. Our congregation deeply rooted in racial relations. We began as an all white congregation who split with Presbyterians over their affirmation of slavery. We became the first congregation in the city of Cleveland to intentionally integrate. This historically all white congregation has also had a Latino pastor and a black pastor. We have law enforcement in our congregation and we have the least, the lost, the lonely. I am highly offended that you think I dont know how to leverage my influence. And I must say that I am even more offended that you would say its open season on law enforcement when at the end of the day we arent burying law enforcement. Those who are unarmed have been buried, not those carrying guns, handcuffs, night sticks, etc. Again, we need REFORM to protect everyone. If I offend you, then I suggest you defriend me. If you can take an opinion that looks far beyond what you ASSUME about me then stick around. What I dont have time for is someone like you telling me how to leverage influence when you have NEVER walked a day in my shoes, as a pastor, wife, mother, African American raised in a Jewish Neighborhood, attended an all back college and has a Master Degree form an Ivy League school. When you WALK IN MY SHOES you may come on my page and begin to make assumptions about me. May the Lord bless you and keep you; May the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; May The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Amen!
