My response to someone whos been hocking a cheynick for weeks: *******, let me tell you a little story, okay? There once was a man. A happily married, well-adjusted, smart, popular, friendly, chassidishe man. One day this man was bored and he decided to walk into a public library. He was just looking for something fun or interesting to read. He took out a popular novel, read it over Shabbos, and his curiosity was piqued. He went back to the library the following Friday, and took out a bunch of nonfiction books on the topic, and read through them over Shabbos. Do you see where this is going? I used to be just as certain in my beliefs as you are. I KNEW that orthodox Judaism was right and everyone else was blind. I KNEW that god created heaven and earth in six days 5764 years ago. I KNEW that every word of the Torah was the literal word of god. But I had to go and ask questions, I had to go be an oiber chuchum and look where I wasnt supposed to. Heres the only difference between you and I: I was twenty two with one kid. Youre forty with grandkids. Do yourself a favor, and stop asking questions, stop trying to show me the error of my ways, and go back to living your nice comfortable life.
