My return to my homeland today has not been as memorable as i had wished. its true, my new appearance seem to arouse great interest among the villagers, but beyond that, these people do not appear to take any special notice of the heros return. It is now 3 years since i left my home village and apparently our place seem to have under gone such a profound change that it is barely recognisable. Today, only yams have been cooked. my father is still a good eater. Before serving the food, my mother first removes two big dishes of yams and puts them side for him. Too traditional! The big man comes back, tastes from each dish and then passes to me and my younger brother. A few acres of land from our home, this woman beats her child to death for breaking her only pot. While coming from the well, it seems the young girl had been playing with the pot on her head. she balances it on the head, with her arms folded and then begin to sway her waist like a grown up lady. On my way to check on my grand mother now!!
