My review of Oldboy Tagline: Ask not why you were imprisoned. Ask why you were set free Year: 2013 Genre: Thriller/Psychological (remake) Origin: US Length: 105 minutes Director: Spike Lee Stars: Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen IMDB: 5.5 My Rating: 8 Obsessed with vengeance, a man sets out to find out why he was kidnapped and locked into solitary confinement for 20 years without reason. Let me start by saying the original Korean film is probably the best psychological horror film to come out of that country. This, by comparison, isnt even crap on the originals shoe. But if you have not seen the original or can push it out of your mind, this is a good movie! It did not have the brutality of the original, so I have to call it a Thriller. If I had to compare it to the original...this blows. On its own though, I liked it!
