My second letter to Obama. Futile or not, I am going to keep going. I might even do one everyday. He works for me after all. I am just going to pretend he cares what I think. Dear President Obama, I still have not received a response to my last message from over a week ago. In it I beseeched you to reconsider your carte blanche, unabashed support of Israels genocidal assault on the children and people of Gaza. Since then the death toll has ballooned from 190 plus to nearly 1,000 people. Your friends, your close personal friends, have now taken to bombing schools and hospitals for the disabled, using white phosphorus and have launched a ground assault that destroyed 300 people in two days. Anyway, I am sure you know the statistics. I am wondering what is happening inside you at this moment? How you are justifying this to your children--to your conscience? I have given up on you as my leader Mr President. I gave up a while back. I am appealing not to the politician, but to the man, the father, the son, the husband, the boy you were. You left PM Netanyahu waiting in an anteroom your first term, you remember that? Not the usual red carpet kowtowing your fellow Commander in Chiefs did for an Israeli dignitary. And I thought, all right then. This one just might be the one who draws the line. What happened, sir??? Not only have you welcomed him in, you are giving him the run of the house! PLEASE re-consider your position. PLEASE give Mr Kerry agency to be an honest broker for peace. I am a writer by profession. I will keep writing to you and about you.
