My semester break anime marathon continues with Akame ga Kill - TopicsExpress

My semester break anime marathon continues with Akame ga Kill (translation: Akame Kills). The title itself should point out what the anime is about: Killing. In fact, as crazy as it sounds, the only reason Akame ga Kill is notable is because of how the characters die. Murder is everywhere, and the deaths are what will grab the viewers to keep on watching. The story is pretty simple. Tatsumi is a typical Shounen main character protaonist who aims to eliminate the corruption of the Capital by... Joining a group of assassins who kill evildoers. And no, Akame, the titular character, is not the main character. ._. So how good is this anime? To be honest, at hindsight, it isnt much. I will admit that the emotional deaths did connect me to the plot development and I personally deemed the storyline progress to be well executed, but gore-filled death and heroic sacrifices arent enough to make an anime good. In fact, the overall story is quite predictable, especially if you have a good grasp on what to expect from an Action anime. That being said, the fights were good and I did enjoy the thrill this anime gave me. I wont really recommend it to sane viewers, but if you like watching fictional characters getting sliced up/ maimed/ obliterated in various ways, then go ahead and try it out.
