My semi-educated opinion on 2015 - Sony is just the beginning, cyber terrorism is more of a threat than most can imagine. Sony is a corporation and therefore harder to have empathy for - also the type of threats that will be affecting (have been affecting) us the people work different. My prediction is that this year both corporations and individuals will be hit by malware and viruses that will both hijack systems and compromise data. I am posting this because I have seen first hand the damage that viruses and malware do to users systems over the years (officially been a tech since 06) and to me it is plain as day that the trend is to use spyware to infiltrate a persons computer, and since the last few years we have stuff that can encrypt your entire hard drive. I recommend buying a copy of a program called Malwarebytes and buying a copy of Avast Antivirus or Avira Anti virus. Those all in one anti virus anti malware anti spyware programs by symantec and kyperski are not bad they are just not nearly as effective and are generally more demanding. Also - protect your mobiles, your tablets and phones - get avast anti virus for your phone and tablet and make sure to buy a physical external hard drive for your most important data as I believe we will see cloud services possibly attacked this year. One last thing - a good way to stop a hijacker is to frequently change your password, its a pain but it can pay off. Oh and as always I recommend making a BlackBerry your next purchase, they now have devices that fit all niches and have 3 excellent all touch devices - and use bbm! It is a secure way to communicate and also gives you the ability to send hd pictures, share your location, make calls via wifi and much much more.
