My sincere apologies to the Saylor family for the late posting... Elden Perry "Barney" Saylor, 86, of New Vienna, died Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born May 14, 1926 in Centerville, Ohio, a son of the late Perry Alfred and Lillian Edna Taylor Aldredge Saylor. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II. During his time in the Navy he served in the Pacific Theatre, European African Theatre and the Asiatic Pacific. He was a member of the New Vienna Church of Christ, Dalton Lodge 578 Free and Accepted Masons and Hillsboro V.F.W. Post 9094. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Martha Pauleva Storer Saylor, whom he married Aug. 23, 1963 in Centerville; step-son Jimmie (Leslie) Osborn of St. James City, Fla.; sons Daniel (Cynthia) Saylor of Lees Creek and Darrell (Patricia) Saylor of Wilmington; daughters Stephanie (Gary) Evans of New Vienna and Stacie (Johnathon "Jay") Young of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Jenifer (Shane) Gibson of Wilmington, Sarah (Bill) Miller of Fairfield, Emily (DJ) Pinkerton of Sabina, William (Amanda) Saylor of Sabina, Morgan (Andy) Gilliland of New Vienna, Clinton Evans of New Vienna, Tiffany Yochum of Leesburg, Michael Moler II of Hillsboro, Catherine Amelia Shaw of Hillsboro and Bryce Young of Hillsboro; great-grandchildren, Clara Gibson, Ethan Gibson, Lilly Pinkerton, Landon Saylor Pinkerton, Mylah Adkins, Victoria Adkins and Aariyah Garrison; step-great-grandchildren, Destanee Lowe, Andy Wayne Gilliland, Heather Gilliland, Zoe Gilliland, William Miller and Kiarra Miller; brother Gerald Saylor of Centerville; sister Patricia Doolan of Columbus and nieces, nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of Jimmie, Daniel and Darrell, Clara Vashti Dennis Saylor in January of 1963; and his step-father, Clarence Kuch.Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, beginning with Masonic services at the New Vienna Church of Christ. Dalton Lodge 578 will provide Masonic services, and then Brad Clouse will officiate funeral services. Burial with military honors accorded by the Highland County Honor Guard will follow in the NewVienna I.O.O.F.Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. Saturday until the time of service at the church. Memorial donations may be directed to the New Vienna Church of Christ, Handicap Door Fund, P.O.
