My sister, Amy Slavena is friends with Sarah, and when she told me of his complications after surgery, I was immediately invested in his story! I began praying along with the hundreds of people who are on Team Balis. I want to contribute in a big way to giving back to this wonderful family, in a bigger way than I can do by myself, so I have decided to hold a fundraiser to give back financial support to the family. I know there is a fund in his name, already, but I want to feel as though I am doing my part!
