My sister, Gretchen Passantino Coburn, went to be the with the - TopicsExpress

My sister, Gretchen Passantino Coburn, went to be the with the Lord about 45 minutes ago. She had known Christ since a few months before I came to Him (1968) and had served Him for many years as a personal evangelist and apologist alongside her first husband, Robert Bob Passantino, who died eleven years ago. She remarried, to Pat Coburn, whom she had known in high school years, about a year later, and they loved each other dearly. She leaves behind her children Mary (married with two children, Grace and Nick), Karen, and Paul, her husband Pat, an ex-Marine and her dear fellow hobbit, her mother, Mary-Louise Beisner, her older sisters Beth Thomas and Beverley Noia, me (her younger brother), and hundreds and hundreds of friends whose lives she and Bob and Pat touched through the years. The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. For me, to live is Christ, to die is gain. To be at home in the body is to be absent from the Lord; to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We do not grieve as the godless do, for we know these things and that our separation is temporary. We believe in the communion of the saints, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. In these truths and in the God--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit--who revealed them to us, we take comfort.
