My sister Jodi is a freak. She has a freakishly good memory (she can still recite phone numbers to match phone lines that were disconnected in 1967). She is freakishly kind (she has taken in every stray dog, cat, person, house elf, she has ever encountered- filled their bellies, fed their souls and adopted them as family). She also has the anatomy of a freak- her sinuses are upside down and a few months ago when she was undergoing heart surgery the doctors discovered that her veins zigged and zagged like the road on a map instead of branching straight likes tree limbs. Her surgery had to be aborted because there was not medical equipment long enough to traverse Jodis (probably part alien) freakishly long cardiovascular system. So my sister has been living with a freaky heart beat, regularly going into a-fib and feeling really freaky ( not in her usual fun freaky self). Today, as we speak she is undergoing another form of the aborted ablation to destroy the freak atrium cardiac cells causing her malfunction. I ask my Christian friends to please lift her up in prayer. May she travel this journey of healing with her freakishly good spirit in tact and may the medical staff working with her be skilled, kind and blessed in their practice. May God also bring faith, calm an strength to her family (especially her husband Mike ) who has to wait while the 6 hour procedure is performed. May we all be reminded that our Lord is at the helm at that HE does all things for the good of those who believe.... As for my secular friends- you can send me chocolate and vodka- because that will make me feel better- and if you dont have prayers to offer you can still make yourselves useful on the road to hell ;)
