My sister Marie Meri Muluka once told me an anecdote concerning something that happened when she was in high school, the famous noble Butere Girls High School. One day they are at assembly, the then principal Mrs Liko says something, then out of nowhere, she hears a sound of defiance, one girl boos and then before she knows it, others follow suit. Now, you know when you boo, its one of those things, that nobody can pin you down to. So she got so irked and went who puut, who tit puu. This became a private joke in Butere and friends of Butere for a long time. Mwalimu got so upset, she wanted so much to know who these badly brought up defiant girls were, that she didnt stop to ask herself an equally important question; why did they boo? Thats the question I have been asking myself, even as I ran into paragraph after paragraph of condemnation concerning the Migori booing.
