My smart ass wittiness pays off again today! Im at my local Coeur D Alene Costco, picking up The Wolverine- on Blu Ray, and it just so happens the store manager with a few other store supervisors, are reviewing the warehouse with a Costco Corporate regional manager. Well, they re-structured the dvd section, consolidating it UP-Wards - in a pyramid configuration, and, in doing so, there were a ton of tv shows as well as movies, that I could not reach, unless I wanted to climb up on top of the display of dvds set at waist level. Anyways, I walk right up to the group, (Who were standing very close by, but obviously not noticing the problem) & I quickly ask if they are indeed management, particularly the gent with the photo on his Costco name tag, asking if he is from Corporate, which he confirmed, then briefly told him/them I used to work at warehouse 110 (The one located across the street from the corporate offices) Name dropped the 2 store General managers who ran the store when I was employed there, (Knowing that at least the Corporate guy would be familiar with Mark and Louie) and proceeded to ask them to follow me, so I could quickly point out my predicament, as well as the predicament for other possible future customers. The female store manager follows me first, as well as the Corporate feller (Both curious by my inquiry)...SO I stand close up, against the display table, reach up and out, and say UNLESS I AM Shaquill O Neal, or Yao Ming, I CANNOT Reach these tv shows on dvd -on top of the display structure. They all shot me looks of astonishment, knowing the merchandisers done effed up, admitting that WAS quite a problem, especially since the tv shows did NOT have duplicates set on a lower/reachable level of the consolidated pyramid dvd display......and I proceeded to NOT grab the ones I couldnt reach. (They were old fogie British tv. series anyways, probably not big sellers to begin with, nor ones I would ever buy.) and grabbed my copy of The Wolverine, and walked off to the registers. Dustin-1, Costco Managers, morning merchandising employees & Corporate Rep.- ZEEEERO. Oh yeah, Costco DID fire me, so I guess its 1-1. But thats another HI-larious Story.
