My son John turned 13 in May, and the only thing he wanted to do - TopicsExpress

My son John turned 13 in May, and the only thing he wanted to do was to spend his special day at PowerPlay Entertainment Center here in the Northland. We had to wait for several months for the new facility to open, and he patiently waited, which is quite hard for him with his autism. We finally were able to get a little party gathered for today, and we got him a special cake too. Once we got to PowerPlay, we were told in no uncertain terms that because we didnt book a party with them and pay the fees to have a party there that we were not allowed to bring in a cake or even have presents in the facility! I couldnt believe what I was hearing! I have had parties in several different places in the area and have NEVER been told anything like this. I asked John if he wanted to stay, and of course he did. While we were trying to decide if we even wanted to stay there, another employee came up to me and again asked me if we had a party booked and I replied No. They again told me that our party goodies were not allowed in the building. Then they said that If I wanted to book a party room that they could then do that, but of course they have to charge me fees and everything. I was so mad! We waited months for my son to go and play at this place, and this is what we ended up with. We had his cake and presents in the back of my van in the parking lot. Unreal!! Am I being over emotional over this or do I have a right to be upset? I hope that PowerPlay will read this, as I will also be sending a letter to the general manager! End of rant.
