My son Joshua was born in Beaumont. Hes from the South. My Mom helped me to bring him up right. Which means that he was raised to be a Southern Gentleman. Josh was trained to address elders with respectful titles and he does it automatically (very much like we did). Joshua is also very well traveled.. (Japan, Russia, Paris, Istanbul and many other places) Many times, he says, hes looked at strangely and even openly questioned about his manners and southern gentlemanly gestures like holding doors and giving up seats for women and just, well, having good manners. I find it strange that some people find those things strange. What a weird world we live in.
