My son Paul is starving to death (He has gone from 163 to 110 pounds) and Turning Point CEO Al Rowlett, Program Director Carolin Funderburg, and Director of the County Department of Mental Health Sheri Heller, will do nothing! Turing Point has dumped Paul into a rundown Royal 8 motel on Stockton Blvd. In Sacramento, Paul has no access to a kitchen and stores his food in a plastic bag from the grocery store. Paul cooks his food on a hotplate on the floor which could be a fire hazard. Paul walks to the Turning Point’s office to get his medication and an injection. At their discretion they discontinued his Lithium which was prescribed while he was in the Sutter Mental Hospital and after 17 days of hospitalization a few weeks ago, the medication was working. Paul was acting normal and gained weight so the question is why would Turning Point go back to what obviously was causing his near death situation in the first place. Paul is supposed to see the psychiatrist every other week, but only is seen every 6 weeks or more. I do not see any care; I JUST SEE LACK OF CARE. This is the way that he has been treated by Turning Point for over 7 years. The Turning Point Contract with Sacramento County states they get almost 10 thousand dollars a year per patient in the program that Paul is in. I would sure like to have someone in authority ask Turning Point for an accounting of that money. I surely dont see Paul getting any care that could get close to a tenth of that number. I am filing a complaint with Medical Board California against the psychiatrist, Dr. McCoy. How do I get my son to safety away from Turning Point? Anyone with suggestions would be welcomed.
