My son and I were at one of those game/movie trade in places. Nick wanted to trade in some games and systems to get some money to buy the newest fame system out there. It was a long process. During this time, a boy around 10 bound in the store. Yes, he BOUND! This kid was so excited and happy! He asked about game controllers and the clerk pointed him to the back. The clerk checked over the systems Nick had brought in and could not for some strange store policy could not take them. The clerk overheard the little boy say he was looking for an Xbox controller. The clerk stated, under his breath, that they were out of stock. The dad asked the clerk how much for the controller. The clerk replied well, if you can find one, about $30. He chuckled because he KNEW he did not have any! I looked at Nick and asked if WE were trading in an Xbox controller. Yep we were. The clerk told us he would give us $6 for it. He was then going to turn around and sell it to the 10 year old for $30. Well, Nick and I could not do that. I took the controller to the back and asked the little boy if this was what he was looking for. Yes! The dad told me they were at 2 different stores and they were all so expensive. I told him to take it and that I hope he had a great holiday. The little boy just looked at me. He was so happy! As they were leaving, they thanked me again. I overheard the boy tell his dad that he would buy them McDonalds with the $20 he got for Christmas. The dad looked at me, smiled, and mouthed thank you again. Man, that was the greatest feeling in the world!
