My son is almost 6 years old and we have never been apart for more than a night. Ive never been apart from my son since the day he was born. I think because of his Pediatric Cancer diagnosis at 27 months old i couldnt bring myself to being away from him. It was very hard for me to go back to work full time, the separation brought anxiety for both of us. At times it was harder on me but as time past my anxiety has too. Danny does very well on his own and when he feels anxiety he always calls me right away. Now it is official, Danny will be leaving for Kays Kamp this Sunday. Kays Kamp is a wonderful and beautiful place for our Children who faced such a physically and mentally difficult time with having a Pediatric Cancer diagnosis. Kays Kamp is specifically designed and structured to heal the mind of our children. Along with their on site oncology doctors and nurses there are Kamp Counselors who are among our very best. Danny needs to have a fun filled week with children, being a normal and healthy child is all I ever wanted for him. This week will be filled with Fun, Adventure and Friends for Danny, I couldnt be any more proud of him and excited for him! But I will miss him terribly.
