My son is running Cross Country for CHS this year, and I am really liking this sport! During Saturdays meet at New Albany, there was a kid running in the boys JV event who was clearly the last place finisher - by a lot. He was, how to nicely put this, not built for endurance running. But he had hung in there for three miles and was determined to finish the race. How I admire such determination! Then an incredibly positive thing happened. His teammates found him during his last half mile and ran beside him outside the ropes. And a crowd of parents and kids gathered at the finish line and cheered him on. He finished the race! Laughter, cheers, even tears flowed. Praise God for encouragers like this boys teammates and parents. Thank God for attentive bystanders who lifted that boy up on their cheers and helped him do it! Man, how I wish I would be that way EVERY DAY!
