My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Nothing could be more significant, important, and necessary to a saint. Keeping Gods words, not his message. I never read keep my message. When Paul said there be some that would trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. So there be those who would pervert His words. Then we have the dreaded commandments that we are to lay up. For the Jews going through the tribulation, to who this will pertain to, and historically to the old testament Jews. But for a saint there is commandments the Lord gave to Paul for the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 14:37 KJV If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. Ephesians says, it doesnt beat around the bush, but says as Romans we are not under the law and commandments for salvation Ephesians 2:15 KJV Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; But the commandments Paul tells of are direct order of things from the Lord. Like doctrine, reproof, correction in righteousness, it is the will of God, even your sanctification. What to put off and what to put on. And it only comes by renewing your mind after the image of him that created him, the new man in you. In the presence of God, in his in your heart, to live as pleasing God. A book that can be held in your hands, and men stand in judgment of the very words that can set them free.
