My son was bit by this demon on June 17th this year. He was just sitting on our couch and feels a pin prick looks down sees the spider and hits it off his arm. We scooped it up, took a picture and googled it. I took him immediately to the er and they then sent us home. They did nothing! The next day he went to strengthening and conditioning for football and then texted me to come get him, he didnt feel good. I went and picked him up and he was red from the neck down and his body was fevered, he didnt have a fever but his body was hot to the touch. I took him to the doctor and she gave him an antibiotic and an immune booster, she also instructed that he take an antihistamine and ibuprofen for pain. The one thing that I think made the biggest difference was what she called the tea bag treatment, we took a lipton tea bag, got it wet and heated it in the microwave for about 1 1/2 minutes and left it on the bite site until the tea bag cooled and then applied an ice pack for 20 minutes because the site itself was feverish. He ended up developing cellulitis in his calf because of the bacteria from the bite but all in all everything was pretty much healed in a little over two weeks. There was no tissue debridement or necrosis or anything, he was very lucky. The only lasting thing he has is a slight blood pressure issue which we monitor and have been monitoring for a while but his doctor isnt extremely concerned with it. I included pictures that we took daily of his bite site. You can see at the end where it looks black and pussy and the next day it is pink. I dont understand why it healed so well but I am thankful that he was that lucky.
