My speech at the Kenya Police end year Party at Muranga sports club today Ladies and Gentlemen, As we welcome the new year come before us, we must reflect on our past successes and failures and resolve to perform better in the coming year. The year 2014 was not without special challenges in the fields of security and social dimensions, such as ; Inadequate personnel, Inadequate equipment, Lack of complete cooperation by all actors, transition implementation of the constitutional process, handling of various new offices and services and the discordant political climate. It is our wish to have obstacles which hampered smooth enforcement of law and order streamlined in 2015. We appreciate the efforts of the Police service to staff various police posts built through community initiatives such as Ndikwe, Nyakihai and Kangara. We look forward to the increase in staff for Mumbi patrol base and eventual upgrading of Ichanjeru to a full station. As members of community policing we call upon the police service to continue observing the secrecy of source of intelligence and also to act promptly as need arises. We applaud the recent raid at Gikandu on illicit brew since we have severally brought this issue to the authorities. Maybe the Local authorities will join hands by setting up a school and shopping centre at Kiawanjugu at the far end of Gikandu. The chronic brewers of muchungucha must be dealt with once and for all as well as the Kiangage blatant bar owners. With the failed short rains, crime rate may increase in the District and we request the National Government to assist the needy in relief food. Finally, we request members of community policing to be given an allowance as they sincerely assist established institutions to perform.
