My speech from my Campaign Launch on August 16th; To my neighbors and friends: It would be my privilege to represent you on City Council. As the 9th largest city in Canada and the 4th largest in Ontario, Bramptons management must represent, demonstrate and comply with the level of integrity and honesty that the residents of Brampton expect and deserve. As a rapidly growing society, we must advance and continue to implement and develop strategies to improve our city. A few areas of mention are budget accountability that directly impact our citizens and bottom line, our aging population, health care issues for all ages/ethnic groups, business growth, prevent traffic congestion, and improve crime prevention. I, Pat Fortini, am fully committed to help to improve the well-being of Brampton residents. You are part of my team and it’s my responsibility to ensure that you are informed and aware of the current and ongoing issues that affect you and your neighbors at every turn. Community involvement and communication is very important and I will strive to keep you informed by using every type of media available to me. I will be your voice that the council listens to so that your concerns are heard. Brampton has a promising future, and as your City Councillor for Wards 7 & 8, I will demonstrate leadership that our community can believe in, supported by integrity, accountability and honesty.
