My stomach is rumbling and growling but Im getting dressed so i can drive 2.5 hours to my grannys house to eat the meal shes preparing for the entire family. She had a stroke a couple of weeks ago. Id hate for this to be the last time I could see her and eat the gift she loves to give us as cooking, singing, and providing for her family are the things shes most proud of. They say you dont know when youre leaving. I think thats a lie. Some just go about ignoring death and never giving us the chance to say a proper goodbye. Maybe Ill convince her to let me spend some money on her in Tunica this weekend. She loves to gamble but shes never been able to. Life is short. Dont live it in misery.
