My story so far + Advice? In February 2014 I read an article about a woman who went no poo. She had been using BS/ACV but found it dried and dyed her hair. On no poo her hair became gorgeous. I am lazy and cheap so no poo sounded awesome. I did no research and went cold turkey for 6 months. I stopped blow drying because it made my hair look more greasy. My hair looks scraggly when dried naturally. My mom commented negatively about my hair and I felt embarrassed. In August I finally did something. I joined this group and posted a pic. I was told that I needed to remove the poo residue with an applesauce mask. I did the mask but didnt feel better about my hair. I looked at a blog someone suggested and after reading I made an ACV/lemon juice mix. I still didnt feel good about my hair. Shortly after that I did BS with the ACV/lemon and I loved it! My hair finally didnt look oily but it was dry. I have been using 1tbsp BS in 250ml water then 1tbsp ACV, 1tbsp lemon juice, and a bit of honey in 250ml water. I used BS no more than every 4th day. When I joined here I tried scritching and preening. Preening felt like I was trying to pull my hair out. Scritching turned into scratching as the top of my scalp became dried out, scabby and painful. I got head acne which is now gone and my scalp is fine thankfully. I have been stretching out washes since October with WO in between sometimes. I find now my scalp is oily, the ends are dry and the BBB doesnt help much. I brush rightside up and upside down in the evenings sometimes. My hair type is 2A, thin texture, medium density, medium porosity, medium elasticity. I havent washed in 2 weeks. Three days ago I used up the last of my acv/lemon/honey and will not use lemon again in a rinse because I found out it is drying. I did WO 6 days ago but otherwise have been dry with occasional BBB. Pic from this morning in the comments. I feel like BS is too harsh but I feel I need it to remove the oil which comes back next day.
