My synopsis of the referendum. YES is what the majority of under 65s wanted. NO is what the media scared a lot of people (elderly mainly) into voting yesterday, and that vote was backed up by alright jacks, a few thousand bigots and some people who genuinely believed they were doing the right thing. Voted no yesterday? You were represented at the count in Kilmory last night/this morning by a select group of well heeled chaps, dressed head to toe in their tweed suits, chortling with laughter as the results came in. Lots of public schoolboys went to bed happy in the knowledge that their bank balances will continue to grow just like the gap between rich and poor. I am hurting today, Ive put my heart and soul into doing something that I truly believe is for the best. Well done to everyone campaigning for change. I know I have to accept the result, lick my wounds, move on, keep striving for change and doing what I believe in. This is not the end, just a new chapter. We have a youth to be proud of, one that I have every faith in to bring us forward.
