My take on INEC: If INEC is sincere for a free and fair election, - TopicsExpress

My take on INEC: If INEC is sincere for a free and fair election, then it need look at the OPTION A4 model. In 2011 after the registration exercise they issued TVC, what stops it from issuing the PVC a year after the 2011 election. Were they starved of funds? How comes the logistics of issuance is mitigating its delivery. If it is true that they have a card reader why not issue the cards now and the device will authenticate the rightful identity. What will happen to citizens who have lost or misplaced their TVC and whose PVC is ready? Will INEC wipe out their information and destroy the cards? And those who are voting for the first time as required by the constitution (18 years above and those who suffered multiple registration in 2011)when will they be issued with their PVC? If INEC cannot guarantee 80% distribution of PVC why not opt for option A4 which is cheaper and less cumbersome to administer. How they will conduct a free and fair election without disenfranchising some Nigerians is left to be imagined. My opinion is for INEC to either allow the use of option A4 or allow the use of TVC. How are we sure its not a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise Nigerians. INEC and other stakeholders should revisit this matter in other to have a free and fair election.
