My take on Osun Election Tomorrow By Badero Olusola After - TopicsExpress

My take on Osun Election Tomorrow By Badero Olusola After numerous inbox messages from friends and foes alike, I will be talking about the election in Osun state tomorrow. But here is the gist; I wont join the bandwagon of election results announcers before the official results starts coming in. I wont be party to fake news cum fear mongering on the updates from Osun. I have signed up with 8 reputable online election monitoring groups on Facebook and Twitter that can give me real situation of things from across the state. Osun election, like Ekiti have a lot at stake in the Nigeria evolving democracy, therefore we are all stakeholders in the democratic process. I am not from Osun state and just like the over 80% Facebook warriors on political happenings from the state are outsiders, we rely more on information from the people on ground. Some factual and many fictions. But Osun people knows what they want and theyll decide on that tomorrow. It is better we allow the people there to make their choice. Aregbesola, the incumbent is facing the toughest political battle of his life. Omisore is fighting tooth and nail to redeem his battered political image and PDP too, is fighting for their political survival in the southwest like never before. So many predictions and polls has been conducted. But One thing is certain, there is no push over in any of the two parties. Polls can give victory to the ruling party but the reality on ground is by far the opposite. In fact, from the feelers from the state, the two major candidates in the election are neck to neck in the race. It is just too close to call. Polling 5,000 voters out of over 500,000 eligible voters with their PVCs wont be the determinant of the election outcome. So lets see what the result would be tomorrow. If Osun voters return Aregbe, it will prove some of us political pundits wrong and prove the Governor right as an achiever and if otherwise, then we can congratulate ourselves for the awareness this election has generated. Left for me, I will want Aregbe and his APC to kiss the dust on the election, but I have no say in what the Osun people want. I want APC to become history in the southwest and see if they can learn the lesson of taking the people for a ride. Come what may tomorrow, I wish the two candidates best outing tomorrow. May the best candidate win. Maiyegun General Glasgow
