*My take on a Titan Watches advertisement. (Reissued with a couple of edits)* This is a beautiful ad. I had remembered reading about it on-line last week but I never got around to watching it, before finally coming across the same on the TV at lunchtime, today. I gave it a second viewing on YouTube a while back and I couldnt help but notice the venom being spewed by various men in the infamous comments section. Well, to each his own. I choose not to vilify them for their narrow views, here. Personally, for a variety of reasons, Id be so damn happy if I was able to spend a lifetime with someone who works or considers herself capable enough to carve her niche. I do believe that, with each passing day that I spend with her, Id only spur her on to excel in her field(s). (and regularly ask her to treat me to fancy dinners with her hard earned cash :P ) I think that women who are depositories of immense talent with a desire to do something with their lives along with balancing their love and care for their significant other (both parties mirroring the affection, Its not a one way street.) would be the recipients of unwavering support from their guys, as, someone who loves somebody would want the best for them, no? Ah yes, the ever elusive illusion of balanced work and professional life that so many couples strive for, yet only so little attain. Relationships only begin to falter/stutter when one side stops getting its due and men too are not devoid of this flaw of misappropriation of attention. On the contrary, we lot are the primary aggressors in many, but not all of the cases. Finally, I am of the opinion that knowing a woman who enjoys her work and my actively taking an interest in what she does would be any day better than knowing one whose only perceivable task at hand is to pose for endless duckfaced selfies on various social media sites on a day to day basis (unless she is making a living of it), waiting for her Prince Charming to come and take her away. But then, this was just my two cents on the matter. Im sure a lot of people think differently and would prioritise housewives to raise the kids with a blanket ban on any other activity. For some, Its a matter of pride. For some, Its risking letting their significant other get too independent. But for someone whod truly love a woman for who she is, her every step in the ladder of success would make him just so proud of her. Once again, to each his own. The funny thing is, I personally know such a talented woman with this desire, this will to do something with her life, but circumstances, fate, kismet, call it whatever you want, would never permit me to be the one in awe of her while cheering her on at every milestone that she reaches, at every step that she climbs. I can only smile and pray that she comes across broader minds that provide her with way more stronger hands of resolute support. :)
