My take on tonights sermon: Deacon Stephen Trott John 15:6-13 Jesus is talking to HIS disciples one more time before HE leaves the earth realm. Jesus is talking about agape love that God gives us.there are 2 kinds of loves: the worlds love (temporary) and Gods love (eternal love). There are times when the word love gets used for the word lust. Love lasts and stands the test of times through the good and the bad. People will use the word love to get what they want and move on. Its all temporary- dont fall into this trap. Its a thin line between love and lust. Even the enemy will make things look good just like the snake in the garden with Adam and Eve. When youre looking for love look to God to send you the real thing. 1John4:7-10 let us love one another; love is God.... God is love and its unconditional. Romans 5:8 Christ died for us despite us doing our madness yet while we were sinners. John 10:18 Jesus is the only one that has the power to lay down HIS life and pick it up again. HE did it just for me! A friend Loveth ALL times no matter if youre up or down. We should have Jesus over us the same way if we have poison ivy. No matter what we touch it spreads. Matthew 26:14-16 even Jesus got sold out for 30 pieces of silver and HE still loved Judas despite being betrayed. We need to make sure we are not being sold out for material things. Be careful of who your friends are/ you might be getting pimped out. But if youre staying true to Gods word dont worry your so called friends will be revealed- Judas hung himself. For everything we go through Jesus has a friend song for us. No greater love than Jesus Christ.
