My take on what Obamas up to is this: Hes now letting loose with all these liberal proposed policies and legislation; stuff any reasonably intelligent and knowledgeable citizen can get behind. Hes counting on the Repugs to challenge and defeat each one, showing that they are not reasonably intelligent and knowledgeable people but obstinate right wingers playing politics at the expense of the American people. I think hes misunderestimated (to borrow from Dubya) the American people just like he misunderestimated the GOPs willingness to compromise and negotiate in good faith throughout his first administration. Hopefully McConnell and Boehner are similarly misunderestimating the American voters (outside the Repug base) eagerness to flock to pig ladies who hate other women and men of limited intelligence but massive Christian faith who hate all women equally as much, and just about everyone else who isnt white, male, and Christian. Because Turtle Man and Boner are rolling the dice and betting the House and Senate that America will embrace these abominations of the American political system over the Democrats. I fear that with so many Democrats still prevented from voting in local and national elections, the Repugs may be right because theyve rigged the game. Nothing that Obama will say in tonights speech and in those to follow will change that because he and the Dems have no idea how to do it.
