My takeaway from this article is that the disconnect is due to the ability of socioanarchist movements to utilize technology in a manner unfamiliar to earlier generations. I dont even have Twitter and I get that large groups of people are able to organize around issues, establish a collective platform, personalize it, and collectively act in physical and and noncorporeal ways without the need, let alone the desire (that would be antithetical to their ideology), for a leader. All are simultaneously leaders and spokespeople. It is the Old Guard that deems the necessity of a figurehead or council.
