My theory about art imitating life is a very valid one to me. Those who hold the keys to cultural images are the most powerful people in society. All it takes is one look at Oliver Stones exaggerated creations over the last nearly thirty years to confirm my claims. With the characters of Tony Montana and Gordon Gekko, alone, Stone has given both petty and upperscale criminals standard-bearing idols to aspire towards, albeit contrary to his original intentions.
