My theory is both are necessary. There is no sense of responsibility on either side more than half the time. This not only causes unrest with in the masses of people who want to make it their problem, but it also causes huge issues with those who do act responsibly and with integrity. There are still people who respect authority and understand the need for law and law enforcement. There are still law enforcement officers that uphold the law with the utmost respect for the people they vowed to protect and serve; all people no matter age, gender, race or religion. The problem causing individuals need to be called out and accept responsibility for their actions. On both sides. Cops that use and abuse their powers and recklessly throw their power around should serve time and understand exactly how it feels to be punished for their wrong doing. Civilians need to understand cops are people too. Some are good, some are bad. Their most important role in society is to enforce the law of the land. By enforcing the law they protect those who abide by the law, they serve the victims of crime and violence taking place every day. Yes. Law enforcement has gotten out of hand. So many innocent people have lost their lives and their loved ones at the hands cops. They have been throwing their power around for different reasons. However, people now fight cops and see them as wrong all the time. Ive seen people fight a cop because they really didnt want a ticket for that red light they just ran. They forgot running a red light can be a fatal mistake. They forgot there are consequences to pay when you do something wrong. This individual firmly believed the cop was out to get them because he was doing his job and writing her a ticket for running that red light. Plain and simple; fault lies on both sides of the line here people. You want your right to speech, right to bear arms, right to vote; but you dont want the responsibility that comes with those freedoms.
