My thought today...ok, this is a bit long this morning and several will not read the entire message, but those who do will understand...During chemo, one becomes more tired than they have ever been. It’s like a cloud passing over the sun, and suddenly you just want to close your eyes and sleep, for sleep provides us with that little bit of energy to keep us pushing on. You don’t know how you’ll answer the door when your friends arrive. You begin to wonder now, how youre going to make it for your daily walk, but somehow you push through and achieve these small task and feel inspired. Its ok, if I dont succeed at these small endeavors, as long as Ive tried. Cancer affects all of us, whether you’re a daughter, mother, husband, friend or even a Doctor. They find strength through us and courage to face this with us. I also find that Im stronger mentally, than Ive ever been. Im clear about the purpose of others intentions around me and the ultimate prize. I believe our mortality is at optimal distance, not up so close that it obscures everything else, but close enough to give us depth perception. Previously, it has taken me weeks or months, to discover the meaning of an experience. Now it’s instantaneous. So Cancer, yes it is a killer, but every day that I challenge this cancer and survive, it is a victory for me.
