My thoughts - I do not care how well you score on academic tests I do not care what you do to make money I do not care if you graduated high school or college I do not care if you live modestly or flamboyantly I do not care how perfect or imperfect your teeth are What I do care about is What you do to take care of you How you treat the elderly and children People in general I care about who you are at the core of your being What you do in your darkest hours What empowers What deflates What you do to right your mistakes I care about your soul Not your shell Not your medals of honor But the scars that make you who you are I do not care what planets square your rising Have you touched the core of your sorrow? Does it open you up for growth or make you dread the pain of tomorrow? Can you sit with your pain? What about mine? Not hiding it or trying to fix it Can you wake up after a night of grief Weary, broken, and bruised And still do what needs to be done? Can you stand in the center of the fire with me Unwavering?
