My thoughts after an overwhelming, but very productive snow day on our Network: After each eventful storm day here in Siouxland, whether it be Winter...Spring...or any season, I always try to reflect and see what can be improved and what things I have learned. 1. Our Network always works well at relaying reports across the Siouxland in a stunningly quick manner, but no matter how much strenuous effort we put in, accidents, injuries, and yes...even fatalities will kick our self esteem back to reality. We work hard to reduce these incidents to create a safer region to live in. Protecting Our Communities of Siouxland. 2. No matter how hard we work to help others, some people will be offended by various comments or posts. We cant please everyone here all the time. What we do here on this Network is a serious matter in my eyes. I take this stuff very seriously and so should the members here. I would hope this is why our members join....to want to help and be someone greater in their community. There will be times when we can have fun, but when it is time to put our game faces on, we need to shift into high gear and realize this isnt a laughing matter when it comes to weather. 3. As hard as we try here, there will always be those people that want to ruin a good thing. Sometimes I feel I am more of a babysitter than an admin on this group. 98% of the people here are good, loving, helpful people and the other 2% could care less, want to be popular, or want to see others in agony or distress. As our group gets larger by the day, many people are acknowledging this great resource and higher ups are taking notice. The reason our Network works well is because of our admins and that 98% of you that are willing to help and have each others back. It is quite a beautiful thing. Thousands of people in a long, hard battle against Mother Nature, working together and being there for each other. For the other 2%, stay out of our way because we have something special here. --Thank you to all of you that contribute and to those that use us for your weather updates throughout the year!-- This is an open forum, if you have ideas, comments, or want to add friends/family, please do so.
