My thoughts for the year 2014 After winning the PRU 13, BN - TopicsExpress

My thoughts for the year 2014 After winning the PRU 13, BN despite having got 47% of the vote but win more seats by courtesy of the Election Commission, UMNO launched an aggressive effort to win back Malay vote with no hold barred. It was power that UMNO was after with holding to a proper perspective on its responsibility as the back bone of BN. UMNO fear losing its power to PR. UMNO turn back the clock to their political stance to prior Malayan independence and post May 13 th of 1969. It is all about religion, race and country. Little did they realize that the people and country has changed. The Malay are divided into 3 main political entity, UMNO, PKR and PAS. In fact only UMNO is a Malay party in BN while PAS and PKR are in Pakatan Rakyat. Pursuing the ideal of Religion, Race and Country, UMNO hope to unite and bring progress to Malaysia. implementing affirmative action on Malay it builds different classes of Malay society, the elite being the UMNO leadership. Pushing for religion, UMNO ended with quasi- extremism in its approach. UMNO BN started to focus on self material gain through massive dosage of corruption in its culture and lies in its defense of poor governance and transparency. It is heading towards failure bring the country and people with it through maximizing the countrys debt by touching the ceiling allowable and incurred more debt through 1MDB. BN could not think of better ways to bring Malaysia forward after the shock on MH 17 and MH 370 lost. It is still now at a lost on what to do. In this scenario the extremist NGO rear its ugly head on religious and racial matters. I suddenly feel angry not because of the issues they brought up but by the limitation of response available to me. It harden my views of how unfair the policies and law used in Malaysia to deal with intellectual discourse over matters of public interest. It also motivate me to fight harder for the rights of Malaysian especially through political means. In 2014, petrol prices went up and oil prices has come down it only shows how the BN government was not able to read the global economic issues properly. Prices of food, goods and services went up but the Government is impotence to do anything. The ringgit went down against greenback and our foreign loan using dollar would increase further. Commodities prices went down and small holders income are affected. Last but not least, some voices can be heard to tell Malaysian not to celebrate Xmas or even part of it. Only ignorant society can believe those words but the numbers are surprisingly quite large. That is the result of BN poor education blue print and continued propaganda to manipulate the mind of the people for elite UMNO leaders self interest. For us in Sarawak it is time we wake up to these realities and our island mentality is invincible no more. The various peoples movement also means nothing unless they start to go to the street and fill up the jail houses. 2014 is not a happy year. For Sarawak the State election should be hope enough to UBAH the BN government. Merry Xmas and God bless you all with peace and love.
