My thoughts on the presidency urgently needed reforms: • The Executive: The power of the executive branch must be redistributed to insure a proper system of checks and balances. Presidential powers: It is important to restore equilibrium to the balance of powers in the nation by reevaluating the responsibilities of the President. 1) Restoring the right for the executive power to dismantle the Parliament under the initiative of the president in order to ensure that the constitutional deadlines for parliamentary elections are met within a reasonable time frame. 2) Giving the president the right to call for an exceptional Cabinet session when needed. 3) Giving the President real power of veto by amending the clause stating that should the cabinet insist on adopting a resolution after the rejection of the president or should the grace period pass without issuing and returning the decree, the decree of the resolution shall be valid anyway. 4) Clarifying procedural deadlines so that laws are not shelved permanently by giving a specific constitutional deadline to the Cabinet to sign decrees and laws, as is the case for the President. 5) Giving the resident jurisdiction over the mechanisms of regulatory control in order to fight public corruption and provide a method of checks and balances within the executive branch
