My thoughts on toughness have evolved over the years. I recall thinking becoming tough was the ability to kick some ass. Now I think tough is far deeper than that. Tough is being able to bend but not break like a well made blade. Take damage and move on putting one foot in front of the other. Living is not easy and nothing is promised nor just given to you. Most of us earn everything we get. That builds character and toughness. Becoming a father has softened and hardened me in ways I never thought possible. Fatherhood has taught me my new definition of tough. It has shaped me in such a way and made me a better man for it. Am I tough? Yes I think finally I am a tough guy lol.
